I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1986 w/ a B.S. My decision to begin a private practice 3 years ago grew out of the frustration of working in a hospital that would not support a holistic approach to medicine. I now blend Pilates, Yoga, and Feldenkrais with my strong background in manual therapy.
A sampling of the courses I've taken over the years includes:
Rocobado TMJD, Paris, Mulligan, McKenzie, NAIOMT series, Gary Gray, " When the foot hits the ground..." , & various neural tension & ergonomic
courses.
An MVA in 1992 resulted in a fractured sternum and ribs, cervical whiplash, L5 HNP, and a brachial plexus injury. Recovery has been an ongoing process, with an upclose and personal look at chronic pain. This experience has played a huge role in the course of my professional development and ultimately lead to the way in which I now chose to practice physical therapy.
My goal is to assist patients in becoming more aware of their lifestyle habits & choices. My hope is that not only will they become more attune to the ways in which they unknowingly contribute to their pain/dysfunction , but that they feel empowered to help themselves by using the techniques learned in PT.
