The Mission of Yoga Wonderland is to create a place where children of all backgrounds and abilities can come and practice yoga and shine their lights brightly. We teach a workshop to health professionals, teachers, parents called Yoga Wonderland: Creating a Fun and Therapeutic Yoga Class for Children of ALL Abilities. Come learn how to develop, structure, and carry out a child-centered yoga class based on traditional yoga guidelines, including practical techniques to teach breathing, asanas, meditation and relaxation. Participants will learn how to adapt their yoga class to children of varying abilities, including children with neurological and cognitive impairments, such as cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, spina bifida, mental retardation, autism, etc. You will leave this workshop renewed, inspired and prepared with the resources to initiate your own yoga program. Please dress in comfortable clothing, bring your inner child and prepare to have a fun-filled day. Tuition is $175.00 and includes a yoga mat, manual and surprise yoga props to help you create a yoga wonderland for kids of ALL abilities.
